ReplyDeleteHello Seena,
ReplyDeleteUr site is simply superb. Its very different from the normal ones which provide recipes. Urs with pictures help us to visualise when we read recipes itself. I started trying one by one in that. Made ullivada today and it was very tasty . I added Jeerakam also in that and that came out well .
Well I am looking for the recipe for beef fry and kerala porotta. Could you please share that if you have these two.
Thanks in advance - Sujitha
Hi there, hopped over from Foodie Blogroll. I think you have a fantastic blog here. You share all your recipes and not just photos.
ReplyDeleteThis onion vada intrigues me because I just tried making some based on a recipe I found on a packet of gram flour. Over in UK, they call them onion bhajis (which I know the word bhaji is not right).
Could you please tell me why mine turned out a bit dry? Should I perhaps prefry (sweat) the onions first?
Thanks.
Judy,
ReplyDeleteWelcome!
Thanks for the comment.
No need to fry the onions first. I think you have added more gram flour thats why it turned dry. If you found so, pls keep the mixture for a while, till the onion produces water and make the mixture wet.
Hope this helps you.
Seena, thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHi seena,
ReplyDeletethanks for the simple &easy recipe.I ll surely give it a try.It looks absolutely delicious&crispy.
Thanks chechi...me also from kerala....This will help my mom to make vada....
ReplyDeleteHi Seena,
ReplyDeleteI tried Ulli vada, it was very tasty.. but I suggest it will be more tastier if make with Maida rather than Kadalamavu.
Thanks for the suggestion, but kadalamavu is good to make vadas, using maida , it will become little stretchy and thick.. :)
ReplyDeletewe've been trying to make good ulli vada for a long time. this recipe is really good. thx...
ReplyDeleteThanks BT for the feedback! :)

ReplyDeleteDear Seena,
ReplyDeleteWe tried this out. Regret to say, not good. Also we came to know from others that using maida will be best.
Thanks
Biju, Dubai
@Biju, I think you have read the above comments. We are fine making with gram flour. You should take care while making with gram flour, the inside should be properly cooked and this will be more crispier than one we prepared with maida.. :)
ReplyDeletehi seena,
ReplyDeleteIt is very easy process and delicious as well. thanks for your recipe..
